Unlike
other aftermarket air intake systems, the Magnum FORCE Stage 2 intake
system replaces the entire stock air induction system to the throttle
body or turbo housing. Remembering aFe's motto Stock Sucks, they
eliminated the stock air box, the stock air filter and the stock intake
tract. The only thing retained is the stock electronics, to ensure that
their Stage 2 system works with the stock electronics.
Cold air equals more power, aFe systems maximize your vehicle's performance with the largest air box for each vehicle application. Even though aFe made it as large as possible they were careful to use your vehicle's stock mounting points. There is no need to cut or drill anything when you install an aFe intake kit. Another advantage of such a big air box is that aFe can design in the largest air filter possible.
At first glance you probably wont notice the unique features in each aFe air box design. Each of them is there for a purpose, either to make your job of installing the system easier or to improve the performance of your vehicle. Here are some benefits that distinguish aFe's Magnum FORCE Stage 2 intake systems:
As you can see, aFe put a lot of effort into designing each air box to fit each vehicle. It takes a little more time and effort but aFe did it to make the job of installing our systems easier.
Finally, aFe installs one of their custom designed and built filters that is custom tailored for each box, maximizing the amount of surface area for decreases air resistance. By designing the largest filter for the largest air box, aFe is able insure that the vehicle is getting the maximum amount of air regardless of the performance upgrades. aFe's Magnum FORCE Stage 2 intake system uses their conical universal clamp-on filters for ease of cleaning.
Typical design characteristics of aFe's custom designed air filter elements:
Letting more air in through the filter and keeping the hot air out doesnt help much if you cant get the air to the motor smoothly and efficiently. aFe intake systems use heat blocking molded tubes because you just cant bend a steel or aluminum tube to accommodate the modern engine compartment. With a molded tube, you can remove kinks, sharp bends and obstructions that restrict airflow. By tapering the tube, you can accelerate the airflow for more torque and better throttle response.
